RECOGNIZED AS A SAFETY LEADER

UTAH SAFETY COUNCIL

Western Metals Recycling received the Award of Merit from the Utah Safety Council for 2018 for the sixth consecutive year. This award recognizes outstanding achievements in corporate safety programs.

NUCOR PRESIDENT’S SAFETY AWARD

Our commitment to safety helped Western Metals Recycling to earn the Nucor President’s Safety Award. This prestigious accolade is presented annually to Nucor affiliates with accident rates below 1/3 of the recycling industry average. We are proud to have earned this award, yet the goal remains to be even better every year.

OSHA’S SHARP DESIGNATION

Our Provo, Salt Lake City and Plymouth Utah, and Sparks Nevada facilities proudly received the prestigious SHARP (Safety & Health Achievement Recognition Program) designation. These facilities were recognized for their commitment to creating and maintaining a safe and healthy workplace. SHARP is the highest honor OSHA awards to businesses that demonstrate an exemplary commitment to workplace safety and health.

ISRI CIRCLE OF SAFETY OCCUPATIONAL AWARD

Western Metals Recycling received the Superior Achievement Award, Medium Class for 2019. This award recognizes companies who show their commitment to safety by instilling core values of safety in their employees and showing continuous improvement in safety programs and incident reduction. Only seven companies nationally achieved this award.

MULTIPLE YEARS INJURY FREE

With our overriding goal of zero accidents, we have comprehensive safety procedures in place at all our facilities. This includes ongoing training and proactive, rather than reactive approaches, to ensure the safety of all employees, customers, suppliers and visitors.
